Our dive trip to Nassau, in the Bahamas, just as the climate was getting colder, was a wonderful time for us to break away to have some fantastic scuba dives, and warm sun, to charge our batteries for the onslaught of the incoming winter.

The Big Surprise – Totally Amazement

What was amazing to me, though many times in the Bahamas, was how wonderful the diving is in Nassau.  In the past, I have spent my time in Nassau-Scuba-Trip-Nov 2011- 15Bimini, Freeport, and the Exuma chain.  I’ve always thought that, because of the large populations of tourists that came over from the mainland to Nassau, the area would be over dived.  I had visions of coral bleaching, and a fished out reef that could barely contain life.  What I found, however, was not only the complete opposite, but that it was a fantastic underwater playground for scuba divers.  There were so many wrecks to see, even the dive master would forget to put them in his predive briefing.  We would begin our dive with a giant stride entry, or a back roll off the boat.  As we descended, we began to glide easily over the coral reef, and the beautiful walls that were covered with every species of fish and wildlife that one could imagine.  Sharks, groupers, barracuda, eagle rays, stingrays and turtles abounded on every dive.

Consensus Of The Toucan Dive Group

Overall, according to the consensus of our group, they felt Nassau diving was awesome.  Everyone, as well, enjoyed the town, and all the good eating at the “fish fry”.  Stuart Cove Dive Center in Nassau is a wonderful place for scuba divers.  They treat you well, and have great boats, and staff, and are highly recommended.  Here are some of the photos of that exciting destination.
