Demo Day – A Rare Opportunity
Demo Day with DUI, was great fun, excitement, and an opportunity for Toucan Divers to really test out dry suits. Toucan Dive was really very fortunate in being the only dive shop in the Great Chicago-Milwaukee metropolitan area, to participate in the event. It seemed that those divers that had joined us for the Demo Day, also knew that this was a very special event as well. They, too, wanted to take advantage of the opportunity.
Pearl Lake Conditions For Demo Day
We actually, conducted the Demo Day event on Saturday, May 9th. The conditions for the day were perfect for dry suit diving. The skies were partially sunny, with air temperatures in the low 50’s. Pearl Lake had fantastic visibility. Touring the wreck of the Thora Ann, a 45′ Great Lakes trawler, showed our underwater visibility at, at least, 40 ft. When the sun came out from behind the clouds, the water was as blue as the Caribbean. The wreck, itself, appeared to glitter like a jewel. Absolutely, breathtaking! By lunch, everyone was thoroughly famished. Toucan Dive and Diving Unlimited International (DUI) was to the rescue. We grilled hot dogs and brats to feed these hungry divers. Afterward, it was back out to dry suit dive some more. There is nothing quite like, being dry and, most importantly, warm, diving in the Midwest. This can be especially true at this time of year. Having a dry suit can extend a diver’s dive season much longer, from early spring to late fall. 
Final Analysis Of The Demo Day Event
Diving Unlimited International (DUI) and Toucan Dive worked very hard at creating a wonderful opportunity to go dive dry, get fed, and get a cool limited edition Demo Day hat.
