Solo diving is it for youSolo Diving – Is It For You?

Solo diving was at one time discouraged by the recreation dive community.  Divers and diving agencies relied solely on the buddy system. For many years this was the only way for divers to safely explore the underwater realm.  Reality and a true perspective of diving in buddy teams, many divers have found themselves alone during a dive, whether it was intentional or not!  SDI’s Solo Diving is the practice of self reliant scuba diving without a “dive buddy.” Solo diving, once considered technical diving, is now seen to be an acceptable practice for those divers suitably trained and experienced.  Solo divers should be skilled in self-sufficiency and willing to take responsibility for their own safety while scuba diving.

Solo Diving is one of SDI’s most popular courses.  The SDI Solo Diver course stresses proper dive planning, accident prevention, and personal limitations.   The course covers the benefits, hazards, and proper procedures for diving solo. You will also learn the additional equipment that is required for solo diving.  This would include its proper usage and assembly. This is the perfect course for underwater photography and underwater video divers.  It is also a fantastic course for those adult divers diving with their children.  It would also help divers that are diving with others that are new and very inexperienced in scuba diving.
