Haigh Quarry Information

Haigh Quarry is about two hours south of Toucan Dive, in the City of Kankakee. Unlike other dive destinations, a diver can drive to the quarry, have a great day of diving, and still get home by the late afternoon! 

Haigh Quarry is a beautiful, rock lake!  Unlike other quarries, the topography requires divers, on most portions of the lake, to do a giant stride entry.  Divers enter the water off the special dive platforms into 35 ft of gorgeous blue!   Beautiful walls with schools of bluegill so thick, they can literally block out the sun!  Giant catfish abound!  Prehistoric spoonbill otherwise known as paddlefish ambush divers from their hidden abodes!  At times, divers have seen the visibility top out over 100 ft.  Needless to say, Haigh Quarry is a awesome place to go diving!

The Particulars Of The Day

All rental gear and air fills for the event will be half price!  The price for the barbecue is free!  Your entry fee into Haigh Quarry is $25.  Haigh Quarry opens up at 7:00 AM, and divers must sign in, and pay their fee before parking.  The Toucan Fun Day event will start at 9:00 AM and end at 3:00 PM.  Directions to Haigh Quarry can be found here…  In order to make sure that there is plenty of barbecue items, it is important to stop by the shop to sign up, or phone Toucan Dive to make arrangements  for this fun event!  The phone number is (847) 356- SUBMerge (7826)
