Corn Island Incredible marine life abound on the 2nd largest barrier reef in the worldCorn Islands Incredible Diving

The Corn Islands is an incredible dive destination.  These islands lie near the southern end of the Great Maya Barrier Reef, on the Mosquito Coast, of Nicaragua.  Being near this proximity, the diving is outstanding.  There has been very little tourist impact on this area.  This is how diving was thirty years ago!

Toucan Dive is going to take 16 adventurers along, to this awesome dive location for a week of fantastic diving.  Divers  can plan on seeing eagle rays, southern stingrays, sharks, and a myriad of colorful, fish life.  Due to its local, dolphins and hammerhead sharks are also sighted in this beautiful aquamarine.  The beautiful walls are still spectacularly adorned with colorful tube sponges, and soft and hard corals.  Not only will we be exploring the reefs of Big Corn Island, but also diving the reefs around Little Corn Island, and Blowing Rock.  Blowing Rock is fantastic!  It is a small, volcanic islet, south of Big Corn Island.  You drop below the water to see a reef, teeming with a plethora of marine life, including schooling yellow tail snapper, African Pompano, and barracuda.  This is one of the highlights of our future dive excursion to the Corn Islands.

There is still an unsurveyed 1700’s Spanish wreck, that is at snorkeling depths, that could still hold hidden secrets.  The anchor and six cannon, still litter the sandy bottom.  Corn Islands - The Caribbean like it used to be

Corn Islands – More Than A Dive Destination

The Corn Islands are also a place to truly relax and enjoy a peaceful vacation.  Beautiful, white beaches, lush, exotic fruit trees, native, coconut palm trees, await the weary traveler.  Due to the quieter pace of life, there are less tourists than other destinations in the Caribbean.  One can still find lobster dinners and cold beer for cheap. All in all, surprising,  that more folks don’t know about this awesome place.
