Haigh Quarry Walls Await You!Haigh Quarry Spoonbill

Haigh Quarry is an awesome destination to go diving, for both new and advanced divers.  It seems to have just about enough cool stuff to keep everyone coming back.  Not only does the dive site offer all types of cool attractions, it has awesome walls to dive.  Some of the quarries that we go to, like Pearl Lake, are sand quarries.  The good thing about them, is easy access.  You can just walk in up to your waist and gear up.  Haigh Quarry, being a rock quarry, has platforms along the shore.  You basically, have to giant stride into about 35 ft of water.  You are rewarded, however, with awesome rock walls to cruise, along the perimeter of the lake.

Fish Life Abound

Haigh Quarry has a tremendous amount of fish life.  No fishing is allowed, so schools of fish are allowed to grow.  There are a plethora of blue gill that can literally, block out the sun, above you.  Big catfish, and some albino catfish will swim up for a handout.  Of course, the elusive paddlefish can surprise you with its occasional visit along the wall, as well.
