Training dives At Pearl Lake June 2015Successful Training Dives Completed June 28th

Toucan Dive enjoyed a successful outing with all the new students.  Some of the classes completed at Pearl Lake was PADI Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, and finally a PADI Wreck Diver specialty.  All in all, with students, support folks, and Toucan Dive’s staff, there were forty-three people involved in helping to make the weekend a success.

Pearl Lake’s Conditions For The Weekend

Training dives can be somewhat complicated at times, with cold, wet, and miserable foul weather.  That, fortunately, was not the case, this past weekend.  The sunny weather cooperated, and the air temperatures rose to the mid 80’s.  The water temperature for our students’ training dives was a pleasant 69 degrees at the surface.  The bottom temperature dropped by about ten degrees to about 59 degrees.  Our students were ready.  They had on the necessary exposure protection to remain comfortable for their skill sets.  Due to the amazing capacity of the zebra muscles to filter the algae in the water, the water clarity of Pearl Lake, was between 30 and 40 ft…and unbelievably, blue.  The new open water divers, upon competing two of their training dives, were able to get dry, and enjoy Toucan’s hospitality.  A nice spread, with a barbeque, helped to keep blood sugar levels up, until the completion of the day.
