The Cayman Islands Winter Blues Buster 2016 will take place this January 30th through February 6th. The rest of the Chicago area will be suffering from frigid temperatures, ice and snow. Toucan Dive will be enjoying balmy weather, palm trees, and great diving. This exciting adventure will feature unlimited diving in one of the Caribbean’s (and in fact, the world’s) premier dive destinations, Grand Cayman.
Grand Cayman – Home To Fantastic Dive Sites
There are many fantastic dive sites to choose from in Grand Cayman. Many of these sites have very exotic and interesting names such as Devil’s Grotto, and Babylon. But make no mistake! These Cayman Islands dive sites offer the goods. All of the sites are pretty awesome, including the new sunken wreck known as the USS Kittiwake. The USS Kittiwake is known for occasional sting ray and eagle ray sightings. The reef known as the Sunset House Reef, can be accessed from the back of our resort. We will have unlimited diving, after we finish lunch each day on this reef. This reef is home to the wreck of the Nicholson and Amphitrite, a large, nine-foot-tall bronze mermaid Beautiful coral reefs abound on this site. There will be plenty of opportunities for divers on this exciting adventure.
Grand Cayman – Not Just For Divers
Grand Cayman offers plenty of adventures for the non divers that wish to come along with us. There is beautiful Seven Mile Beach, a crescent shape, natural wonder. It has beautiful, azure waters, and sand as far as the eye can see. Grand Cayman is one of the most cosmopolitan islands in the Caribbean. Being so, one will not lack in being able to shop to one’s heart’s content in the capital, Georgetown. Opportunities to snorkel will be available, including the always fun, Stingray City. You can actually tell someone to “Go to Hell”!…and mean it! Hell is a series of short, black, limestone formations that have been cultivated into a tourist attraction. So there is plenty to do in Grand Cayman.
