Bonaire Fish Life

Bonaire Fish Life

Bonaire, The Island

Bonaire is one of three of the islands of the Netherland Antilles, just off the coast of Venezuela. It is considered a desert island with cactus, and bluffs. The Dutch architecture stands out in stark contrast to the windswept feel of the terrain. The beautiful beaches with white sand draws one to the aquamarine water that drops off into the cobalt blue.
The island has much to see. Flamingos, iguanas, parrots and many other species of reptiles and birds can be found around the island, including Washington Slagbaai National Park.

The Diving

Gorgeous, underwater landscapes, crystalline clear water, and easy accessible dive sites from the shore make Bonaire a destination for scuba divers and snorkelers alike. The Bonaire Marine Park protects all the dive sites so that there is plenty of beautiful, stunning coral formations, and an astounding amount of fish life. There are the infamous dives to be done as well, such as diving the wreck of the drug running shipwreck known as the Hilma Hooker. Also, the night dive under the town pier is where you will see an incredible amount of marine life. There are scuba cylinders available twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. So if diving is why you’re coming to Bonaire, get ready for a lot of fun.
